A Clean Workspace for the New Year

I decided to clean and organize my shop today.
I thought I would share some of my day.

I collect wooden spools of thread.
They are a thing of the past...all plastic now.

Ikea sells this birch wall mounted drop leaf table for $29.99.
The name is NORBO
See how much work space I gained for a mere sixty bucks.

I find that I am my most creative when I have order and beauty around me.
So, I like to use my empty body cream containers for little things like straight pins and safety pins. An added benefit is that they smell wonderful.
The red and white felt pincushion ring is from Ellas Wardrobe on etsy.com.

My most used tools are scissors, a ripper, a marker and Goody's headache powder.
They all rest on a pretty dish which was a gift from a good friend.

My fabric is orderly...dots, checks, stripes, designs, etc...

Even ribbon adheres to the theory of a place for everything and everything in its place.

One of my best this ribbon roller. It helps keep my ribbon neat and tidy and wrinkle free.

S Hooks are my new best friend.
You can do so many things with them...once again, from IKEA.

I stacked two thread organizers on the wall beside my sewing space.
Very handy.

This fabulous desk and chair is where my wonderful husband sat in his furniture store.
How can you not love to sit and work in something like that?

This interesting piece of furniture is where the furniture store kept its paper records in the early years.
I was lucky that it so perfectly holds my spools of embroidery thread.

One day I may change the drawer labels but for now,
I cannot alter what my husband's father wrote...probably with a REAL ink pen...
